These terms govern your use of this website and any purchase you make from it. By placing an order you accept them, so please read them before you buy.
The site is operated by LUYUN Tea 麓云茶号, [company registration number], [street address, Fuzhou, Fujian, China] (“LUYUN Tea”, “we”, “us”).
1. Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you order on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
We may refuse or cancel an order where we suspect fraud, resale, an error in pricing, or a breach of these terms. If we cancel, we refund you in full.
2. Products and descriptions
We describe each tea by cultivar, origin, harvest, process and roast level. Tasting notes are our own impressions and are not a guarantee of what you will taste — water, vessel and brewing method change the cup considerably. Colour and appearance of leaf and liquor vary between harvests, and photographs are representative rather than exact.
Tea is an agricultural product. Batch-to-batch variation is normal and is not a defect.
3. Pricing
All prices are in US dollars (USD) and exclude tax unless stated otherwise. Tax is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.
We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already confirmed.
If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price — for example a $68 tea listed at $0.68 — we are not obliged to honour it. We will contact you, offer the correct price, and refund you in full if you decline.
4. Payment
Payment is taken at the time you place the order. We accept the card and wallet methods shown at checkout. Card payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal; we never store your full card number.
If a payment fails, your order is not confirmed. Your cart is held for a limited period so you can retry.
We do not store card details, and we are not liable for a decline decision made by your bank.
5. Order confirmation
Your order is confirmed when we send the confirmation email. Until then, no contract exists between us. If we cannot fulfil a confirmed order — for example because a lot has sold out — we will tell you and refund in full.
6. Delivery, risk and title
Delivery options, costs and transit times are set out in our Shipping & Delivery page, which forms part of these terms.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have received payment in full.

7. Returns
Returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
8. Promotional codes and gifts
Discount codes cannot be combined unless we say so, cannot be applied retrospectively, and have no cash value. We may withdraw a code at any time.
The free Spring Tasting Set is added automatically when your order subtotal reaches $150.00. It is a gift, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged. If you return items that drop your subtotal below the threshold, the gift must be returned too, or its value deducted from your refund.
9. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend an account used to abuse the site — for example by scraping prices or placing fraudulent orders.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site except as permitted by our robots.txt;
- interfere with the site’s security, availability or integrity;
- use the site for anything unlawful;
- reuse our copy, photography or product descriptions commercially without written permission.
11. Intellectual property
The LUYUN name and logo, the site’s text, photography, illustrations and design are owned by us or licensed to us. You may not reproduce them without our written consent, except for normal personal use or fair dealing.
12. Availability
We aim to keep the site running continuously but do not guarantee it. We may suspend the site for maintenance, and we are not liable for losses caused by downtime outside our reasonable control.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of business opportunity.
14. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, epidemics, war, sanctions, customs action, carrier failure or widespread network outage. If such an event continues for more than 30 days, either party may cancel the affected order and we will refund it.
15. Complaints and disputes
Write to [email protected] first — nearly everything is resolved at that stage. We aim to respond within one business day and to resolve any complaint within 14 days.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in your local courts where consumer law gives you that right.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, and the courts of Fuzhou, Fujian, China have exclusive jurisdiction — except that consumers in the EU, the UK and other jurisdictions with mandatory consumer-protection rules keep the right to bring proceedings in their country of residence and to rely on those rules.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published when you place your order, and it is the version that governs that order. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
